Scope
This policy applies to the BetterBite mobile application, website, support channels, and related services. By using BetterBite, you acknowledge the practices described here.
Information you provide
We may collect account information such as your email address and authentication identifiers; profile and wellness information such as your nutrition goals, body profile, activity level, dietary preferences, and saved settings; and content you choose to submit, including meals, drinks, nutrition details, Kitchen inventory, scan images, and messages sent to BetterBite Coach.
Information collected automatically
We may collect app activity, feature usage, device and operating-system information, approximate network information, crash reports, diagnostics, security events, and identifiers needed to keep you signed in, prevent abuse, and maintain the service. Our website may use essential cookies or similar technologies required for security and basic operation.
Purchases and subscriptions
Payments are processed by the applicable app store or payment provider. BetterBite does not receive or store your full payment-card number. We may receive purchase status, plan, renewal, expiration, transaction identifiers, and other information needed to provide paid access and customer support.
How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; provide food, drink, label, receipt, and menu scanning; calculate and display nutrition progress; personalize BetterBite Coach; maintain Kitchen and history features; process subscriptions; respond to support requests; detect fraud or abusive automation; measure reliability; troubleshoot problems; and improve the service.
AI and scan processing
When you request a scan or Coach response, the content needed to fulfill that request may be processed by AI, cloud-hosting, database, image-storage, or related service providers. This may include text, images, nutrition context, profile goals, and recent logs. We use providers to perform services for BetterBite and do not authorize them to use your information for their own advertising.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that support authentication, hosting, databases, storage, AI processing, analytics, diagnostics, payments, security, and customer support. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate protections.
Retention
We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide BetterBite, meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the service. After deletion, limited information may remain temporarily in protected backups or where retention is legally required. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed.
Your choices and rights
You may update certain profile information in the app. You may request access, correction, export, or deletion by using the available in-app controls or contacting us. Rights vary by location, and we may need to verify your identity before completing a request. See our account and data deletion page for instructions.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a unique password and protect access to your device and email account.
Children
BetterBite is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to BetterBite, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
International processing
BetterBite and its service providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate. Those locations may have different data-protection laws than your home jurisdiction.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as BetterBite changes. We will post the revised policy here, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when required.
